Family Stress and Grief as a Result of the COVID-19 Pandemic

On May 15th, 2020, Carmen Valdez co-facilitated a webinar on family stress and grief as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The webinar combined elements from the Fortalezas Familiares Program and the Witness to Witness Program (Weingarten, Migrant Clinicians Network). Dr. Valdez and her co-facilitator, Alma Galvan, discussed grief as a universal experience with cultural meanings, described multiple losses experienced during COVID, and offered tools to cope with grief and to bring stability to family life. The intended audience was staff from a New York organization that support migrant families in the state, Agri-Business Child Development (ABCD).
